“Can a woven textile hold stillness?
Can it speak through silence?
”Immersive Stillness in Poetic Space: Textiles for an Uncertain World is a thesis that investigates how woven textiles can serve as vessels for emotional resonance and meditative stillness.
Amid accelerating environmental and cultural change, this project explores how poetic space—shaped by materiality, light, and silence—can offer grounding and emotional refuge. The research unfolds through personal narrative, architectural and artistic case studies, hands-on weaving processes using dobby and Jacquard looms, and pattern design.
Ultimately, it proposes a new way of inhabiting interior space—one that embraces presence, softness, and quiet depth. Each woven textile is presented as a material in its own right,
offering potential value and possible applications for future use in interior spaces.
