I use natural materials like silk reel rods, which are by-products of reeling silk from cocoons, and Kibiso, which is considered waste because one cocoon creates 3000m of silk but the first 10m is very rough. When I think of the characteristics of silk—the delicate and fine qualities—and the characteristics of waste silk such as silk reel rods and Kibiso, I find the contrast of the rough, irregular forms intriguing.

Balance
This work visualized the sublime beauty of nature and the ever-changing moments cast on architectural walls, capturing the layered accumulation of present and past moments and the flowing passage of time. It explores the balance between transient and the eternal, hardness and softness, drawing out calmness and serenity through this balance.
SERENDIPITOUS MOMENTS 2023
WOVEN DESIGN - DOBBY WEAVING
24Harness AVL Dobby loom
Capturing serendipitous moments in nature, focusing on intricate textures and ripples, my artworks are infused with elements such as the interplay of light and shadow, stone works, the swaying of grass stirred by the wind, and various forms of water. The goal is to evoke themes of serenity, tranquility, and a meditative mindset. When I discover irregular patterns in nature, it feels as though they reflect my own emotions—those ambiguous and unclear things.
